Rakaia River

Pristine, crystal blue waters, fed by melted snowfall from the Southern Alps, meander through wide banks of stone and sand, as the Rakaia River winds its way through the Canterbury Plains to the Pacific Ocean. One of New Zealand's largest braided rivers and famous for its salmon and trout fishing. The blue stripe epitomises the purity of this turquoise-coloured river.
