Jandal Studs

Cultural icons in New Zealand, proudly worn by many of us year round, jandals are a symbol of freedom, celebrating the laid-back Kiwi lifestyle and long, hot summers at the beach. A happy result of good old Kiwi ingenuity, the humble jandal, was first crafted in an Auckland garage back in the fifties. Although rarely used by anyone other than us Kiwis, the term ‘jandal’ is an ingenious combination of ‘Japanese’ and ‘sandal’.
